The septic tank is professionally designed and constructed such that the solid particles settle in a first chamber will be anaerobically digested whiles the liquid will float into a second chamber and drain into a leach field.
This reduces considerably the amount of sludge for disposal.
The sludge can be sold as fertilisers to local farmers.
